Postal Mail Carriers and Volunteers Come Together to Help Feed the...

A diverse group of more than 50 volunteers came together Saturday to help feed Ocean City’s less fortunate this holiday season. The Postal Mail Carriers throughout town collected food donations and brought them to the Ocean City Food Cupboard at St. Peter’s Church. But that is only part of the process. Dear Friends, I informed City Council last night that the city team has completed due diligence on the potential purchase of 50 Tennessee Avenue. I have decided not to move forward with the purchase of this property. We are balancing a lot of other priorities, and trying to redevelop this property at this time would not be the most effective use of taxpayer dollars. As always, we will continue to keep an eye out for good opportunities to acquire land for public use or open space...

Third Street Beach Is Back; Spectators Entertained

Bob Casey couldn’t believe his eyes. “These guys are doing a great job,” Casey said Thursday, as he watched a wide stretch of sand appear where a badly eroded area had been. At high tide, the Third Street beach was nearly gone Casey said, with the ocean lapping precariously close to the dunes. “Even at low tide, there wasn’t a whole lot there,” Casey said, “now look,” he said.
