Ocean City Roller Coaster Getting New Track for Smoother Rides

A 125-foot-high roller coaster that serves as the centerpiece attraction at one of Ocean City’s oldest Boardwalk amusement parks is getting a new track to give passengers smoother rides. The Gale Force roller coaster made its debut at Playland’s Castaway Cove in May, thrilling its riders with a series of twists, dips and loops on a serpentine-like track while traveling at more than 60 mph. Ocean City Intermediate School Team Wins First Place at STEAM Tank

Dynamic girl duo, Isabella Kenny and Daphne Broyzna, won first place in the Elementary Category at STEAM Tank for their app ReCraft. Their app is a spin-off of the game Minecraft that not only encourages recycling, but makes it fun. Last May, the girls entered ReCraft into the 2017 US ARMY & NJSBA STEAM Tank Regionals. In total, there were 193 applicants in the entire state of New Jersey. From the 193 applicants, the judges chose 90 groups to compete in the North, Central, and South Jersey Regionals.
