SUNDAY, NOV. 9

OC Reads — ‘Shadow Divers’: The Ocean City Free Public Library, 17th and Simpson Ave., will initiate “OC Reads,” an innovative program that celebrates reading, literacy and all the things Libraries do to educate and entertain the Public. This Community Reads Program is designed to bring people together by having them read and discuss the same book.

The first work selected is the “Shadow Divers” by Robert Kurson. The author will visit the Library for a reading, discussion and booking signing at 2 p.m. in the Chris Maloney Lecture Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

Shadow Divers is a riveting adventure in which two scuba divers risk everything to solve a historical mystery – and make history themselves. It is a story of men who push themselves beyond their limits, navigating through wreckage as perilous as a minefield, 230 ft. below the frigid waters of the Jersey Coast.

Robert Kurson, a graduate of Harvard Law School, quit the profession to become an award winning writer. His work has appeared in the New York Times Magazine, Rolling Stone, Esquire and many other national publications. Books will be for sale the day of the reading at the Library, at the adjacent Historical Museum and at Sun Rose Words & Music, 756 Asbury Ave. Read more
