Talk about a hot streak. Ocean City resident Cris Pannullo won his fourth straight day on Jeopardy, bringing his grand total in earnings to $111,058.
And like the days leading up to Wednesday’s win, Pannullo, was as cool as can be.
Even when he lost the final Jeopardy clue, he wagered small, running away with the game to end the day at $27,600.
Over the course of Pannullo’s four-day winning streak, Jeopardy host Ken Jennings took note of the fact that Pannullo, a customer success operations manager in Ocean City, typically wagers big.
During Wednesday night’s introductions, Jennings joked with Pannullo, “I notice you are willing to take risks on the Daily Doubles.”
In his reply, Pannullo alluded to one of his opponent’s opening remarks about some of her travels having their share of danger, including a trip she made to Jerusalem during the start of a war.
“I am generally a terrified person. I drive slowly. I do not go to Jerusalem ever,” he said as the audience chuckled.
Pannullo returns to Jeopardy Thursday, Oct. 6, at 7 p.m. on Channel 6.
The returning champion will face challengers Jo Austin, of Manlius, N.Y., a retired IT project manager, and Jeff Parker, of Arvada, Col., a theater professor.
