Techniques have changed since then but not the lifeguards’ commitment to saving lives.
On Saturday, June 20, newly hired lifeguards will begin a week of mandatory rookie school under the direction of Chief Tom Mullineaux. All summer the rookie lifeguards will work with veteran lifeguards to continue their lifesaving training.
