The Artisans of Philadelphia will return to Ocean City this weekend for their 70th annual visit.

The Artisans have been in business for over 100 years. It is a “Family Fraternal Benefit Society,” whose mission is to provide affordable insurance coverage to working people. The organization is also known for supporting charitable organizations in the Delaware Valley.

On Saturday, June 6, the Artisans will hold its Miss Artisan Pageant 8 p.m. at the Music Pier, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace. At this event, a young woman is selected to represent the group for the upcoming year. Professional entertainment is featured in the program. The public is invited, and admission is free.

Over the years, the Artisans have been generous supporters of the Ocean City Ecumenical Food Cupboard and City events including the Mr. Mature America Pageant and our annual Tribute to the Philippines. During the evening, we will present a “Key to the City” to Theresa A. Ludwig, Most Excellent Master Artisan, the Society’s Chief Executive Officer.
