Special Weather Statement: Flash Flood Watch

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch in effect for Ocean City from 8 p.m. Monday through 5 p.m. Tuesday. The forecast predicts 2 to 3.5 inches of rain with greater amounts possible in localized pockets.

Chamber of Commerce Hosts “Welcome Night” on Oct. 27

The Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce is continuing the tradition of hosting “Welcome Night.” This year Welcome Night will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 27, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the newly renovated Ocean City Sports & Civic Center on Sixth Street by the Boardwalk.

OCHS Field Hockey Cruises in 10-0 Win

The Ocean City field hockey team closed out the regular season with a convincing 10-0 victory over Absegami on Saturday. The win improved Ocean City’s record to 17-2 (14-1 conference) , while Absegami dropped to 3-12 (3-11 conference). It also secured Ocean City as co-champions of the Cape Atlantic League, sharing the title with Egg Harbor Township. Eight different Red Raiders got in on the scoring on the afternoon. Leading all scorers for the Raiders were Carly Hanin and Tricia Nicoletti with two goals and an assist apiece.

O.C. Girls Soccer Victorious Over Delsea

The Ocean City girls soccer team rolled to a 3-0 victory over visiting Delsea on Friday afternoon in the opening round of the South Jersey Coaches Association Tournament. Scoring for the Red Raiders were senior Summer Reimet with two goals and fellow senior Hope Slimmer with one goal and an assist. Naomi Nnewihe and Coryn McDonnell each had an assist for Ocean City.

Ocean City Boy Scouts to Hold Pancake Breakfast

Members of Ocean City Boy Scout Troop 32 will hold a Fall Pancake Breakfast on Sunday Oct. 31 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Morvay-Miley-Cruise American Legion Post 524, located at 46th Street and West Avenue. All are welcome to partake of the all-you-can-eat fare, including pancakes, sausage, coffee, tea, orange juice and milk. The cost is $9 for adults, $5 for children.

Spots Available in Play Group for Preschoolers

The Ocean City Recreation Department invites preschoolers to join in the fun of the "Little Rec'ers" program. The program is open to children ages 3 to 5 and offers arts, crafts, games and other activities. Details follow on how to register.

Cape May County’s Division of Aging to Hold Medicare Seminar Oct....

On Friday, Oct. 29 at 12:30 p.m. Colleen Bingham, Assistant Director/Ship Coordinator with the Cape May County Division of Aging and Disability, will present a virtual presentation on Medicare in the auditorium at the Ocean City library via Zoom. This is open to current beneficiaries and those who will be reaching age 65. Details follow on how to register.

Boardwalk to Host Dog Day, Howl-O-Ween Parade

The dogs will have their day at a new event on the Ocean City Boardwalk on Saturday, Oct. 23. Leashed dogs will be permitted on the Boardwalk from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 23. Activities will include dog-specific vendors at the Ocean City Music Pier, photo-op stations and the Humane Society’s announcement of Ocean City’s “Pet of the Year.”
