Dear Friends, I want to clarify some misinformation that has been circulating this week. The local Fairness in Taxes group ran ads that appeared in the Sentinel and Gazette. The ads compare per-square-foot construction costs for new public safety buildings in other towns to Ocean City’s – with the apparent intent of suggesting that we are being wasteful. The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch in effect for Ocean City from 2 p.m. Friday (July 28) through Saturday afternoon. Because of its low elevation, Ocean City does not experience flash floods, but if the heaviest rain coincides with high tide, street flooding could occur.
