Ocean City High School is proud to announce the creation of an Athletic Hall of Fame. The Ocean City High School Athletic Hall of Fame will induct its inaugural class on Sunday, October 22, 2017 with an induction ceremony and reception, beginning at 11:30 A.M in the school’s auditorium and reception in cafeteria to follow.
The mission of the Ocean City High School Athletic Hall of Fame
Throughout the long history of Ocean City High School Athletics, numerous individuals have made a significant and lasting impact on Ocean City High School. Recognizing the accomplishment of past graduates, coaches, and outside contributors may inspire the present and future members of the school and community to strive for higher achievements and positive involvements in Ocean City High School athletic programs.
The Ocean City High School Athletic Hall of Fame was established in 2016 as a way to recognize and honor athletes, coaches, and contributors in a permanent manner who have excelled in athletic programs at Ocean City High School. After a year of defining the bylaws and procedures, eight (8) esteemed OCHS Community members were identified by the committee to be inducted.
The Inaugural Induction Class of 2017 will be: Mike Naples, Jen Blizzard, Phil Birnbaum, Kevin Sinclair, Abbey Woolley, Leon Brown, Ralph Carson and The 1996 Football Team (Coach Gary Degenhardt)
Tickets are $20 per person. Checks made payable to Ocean City High School Athletic Hall of Fame may be sent to: Ocean City High School Athletic Hall of Fame or (OCHSAHF) at 501 Atlantic Ave., Ocean City, NJ c/o Vince Leavey.
NOMINATION PROCESS
We need your help in identifying former athletes, coaches, and contributors worthy of being in the Ocean City High SchoolAthletic Hall of Fame. We are asking people to complete Nomination Forms and return them to Ocean City High School Athletic Director, Vince Leavey.
Nomination forms can also be picked up at Ocean City High School offices. All Nomination Forms must be submitted on or before December 31, 2017 for 2018 Hall of Fame Class. Information on all nominees will be shared with Selection Committee members who will in turn make the final selections for the Hall of Fame inductees.
