Ocean City will experience a partial solar eclipse on Monday afternoon (Aug. 21). Here are some things you may want to know about the event.
When will it happen? The eclipse will begin in the early afternoon and peak at about 2:45 p.m. in Ocean City.
Will it be a total eclipse? No, Ocean City is far north of the 70-mile-wide path across the United States that will experience total darkness.
How can I watch the eclipse? Remember, do not look directly at the sun without proper equipment. It could cause damage to the retina. Will Ocean City close during the eclipse? All beaches, stores and businesses will be operating on a normal schedule on Monday.
