The Ocean City Civic Center — where the recent Pi Day celebration was held — will be host to the final ‘Fridays With Friends’ event for local teenagers on March 20.

The final “Fridays With Friends” event of 2014-15 for local teenagers will be held 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, March 20, at the Ocean City Sports and Civic Center on the beach block of Sixth Street near the Boardwalk.

This free program invites students in grades 8 to 12 to enjoy a barbecue (with the Ocean City Police Department cooking), play Pickleball and dodgeball, test their baseball pitching and soccer kicking skills against a speed gun and to just hang out and have fun.

The “Fridays With Friends” program invites teenagers to participate in various activities throughout the winter months. The event is for Ocean City and  Upper Township students. Teens must show a school identification, but there is no cost to participate.

The school group sponsor for this event is OCHS SADD/STOP. The Municipal Alliance Committee, Ocean City Police Department and Community Policing Unit, Ocean City Free Public Library, Ocean City Aquatic and Fitness Center, and Ocean City Recreation Department co-sponsor the seasonal series of events.

The event organizers are encouraging students to make the last event of the season the best. For more information, call Lisa Rumer at 609-525-9317 or e-mail lrumer@ocnj.us.
