Anticipation was Sky high. The excitement level was Sky high, too.

And why not? Sky Brown, the 11-year-old international skateboarding, surfing and dancing sensation, was in town for a special show that thrilled her Ocean City admirers.

Fans clamored for autographs and pictures as Sky and her 7-year-old brother, Ocean, appeared at the Ocean City Skate Park on Tuesday to put on a skating demonstration and hang out for a meet-and-greet.

“I just really like coming out here and skating. It’s so awesome and cool to see them out here, too,” a local 12-year-old fan said of Sky and Ocean. “I have been waiting for hours to get into the park.”

Kids of all ages and skating levels marveled over the famous siblings and were able to skate with them, too. Fans ranged from 3-year-old novices to 17-year-old experts.

Underscoring the community aspect of Ocean City, a tight-knit group of skaters were greeted by plenty of friends as they arrived at the skate park.

The star attraction, of course, was Sky Brown. Sky and Ocean were busy for nearly an hour autographing photos, hats and skateboards. They also received gifts from fans.

There were oohs and ahhs from the crowd as both Ocean and Sky pulled off daring tricks. Although they might have gotten a few bumps and bruises during some spills, they always popped right back up and were back at it.

Overall, it was a good experience for all community members. The event brought many skateboarding fans together and introduced others to the sport.

Whether you’ve never stepped foot on a skateboard, or been on one your entire life, this was a day that you’d never want to miss – especially with a chance to meet Sky Brown.

A huge “thank you” goes out to Ocean City, Sky and Ocean Brown, and everyone else who helped organize the event for making the day possible.
