The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory in effect for Ocean City from 6 a.m. to noon on Sunday.

A new moon and strong southerly winds are expected to cause minor tidal flooding. Water levels will peak in the hours around high tide on the bay side of Ocean City at 7:48 a.m. Sunday. The water level is predicted to reach 5.6 feet on the mean low water scale. Visit www.ocnj.us/octides to compare these predictions to other recent and historic tide levels.

Residents in areas that typically experience tidal flooding should be prepared to move vehicles before going to bed on Saturday night. The roads closer to the beach including Central and Wesley avenues are typically at higher elevation.

For your safety and the protection of your vehicle and neighboring properties, never attempt to drive through flood waters, and do not drive around barricades.

The National Weather Service also issued a Wind Advisory in effect for Ocean City from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday. Southerly winds could gust as high as 50 mph.
