LOCATION: Ocean City in area of 49th Street Beach
At approximately 8:35am on June 1, 2019 a small single engine Cessna plane conducted a successful emergency landing on an empty beach in the area of 49th Street in Ocean City. The plane was occupied/piloted by one person who was uninjured. The plane sustained minor damage. The Ocean City Police Department is on the scene awaiting investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration. The plane will be removed from the beach once the scene is cleared by the FAA. The investigation is ongoing.
