PMP certification is organized and the exam questions are designed by PMI, Project Management Institute in the United States. While the Information Technology Project Management Professional Exam is a medium-high exam of the computer and software exams in our countries. Different from PMI PMP certification, it is mainly applied in such fields as computer and software. It can not only prove that you have the ability of project management but it is a necessary certificate for gaining titles particularly in the state-owned enterprises. It covers more the knowledge of computer and software like information security, network, principles of computer compositions, system analysis, computer English, laws and regulations and so on.
2. The value of PMI PMP certification
To acquire PMP certificate, you need to attend the PMP certification training. The PMP exam pass rate is relatively high. The certificate can prove that you have the ability and experience of project management so that you can be recognized by enterprises. However, as the number of PMP certificate holders increases, the value of the certificate is lower than before.
While the exam pass rate of the Technology Project Management Professional is lower, generally about 30%. Many people give up preparing for the exam because of its difficulty. Therefore, the value of the certificate is higher. The exam does not have a threshold. If you want to take the exam, you can just apply for it.
3. PMP certification exam and the Technology Project Management Professional exam have overlapping parts.
I discovered that if you have passed the PMP exam, it is easier to pass the other one. Because PMP exam prep can make you learn project management systematically and comprehensively. That is to say, PMP can teach you how to do things well in a complicated environment. The other exam also attaches importance to practices in the informatized environment. It is of practical meaning.
