A red fox on the field was the only thing that slowed the Ocean City High School boys’ soccer team during a 6-0 rout of Oakcrest on Thursday.
“It’s been an up-and-down season, but the team is building momentum going into the playoffs,” according to Pat Pawling, a team parent who passed along the photo above. “A perennial favorite, the team is now a sleeper, due to an uneven offense and a tougher-than-usual schedule. Keeper Russell Lindsay’s most interesting save was shooing away the fox that sauntered onto the field.”
Fox sightings are increasingly common in Ocean City.
