The city will host a dedication ceremony for a POW/MIA Chair of Honor in the atrium of the Ocean City Community Center (1735 Simpson Avenue) at 11 a.m. Friday, June 14.

The chair will be a permanent reminder of those who served in the military but have not returned home.

The ceremony will take place on Flag Day and was coordinated by the city, VFW Ferguson-Foglio Post 6650 and American Legion Morvay-Miley-Cruice Post 524.

“I want to encourage all residents to attend on June 14, if you can take a few minutes out of your day,” Mayor Jay Gillian said in a news release. “We are all grateful for the bravery and sacrifice of those who served our country, and it’s important to remember those who became Prisoners of War or Missing in Action.”
