An exhibit of Pine Barrens and Jersey Shore photographs from Loralea and Zachary Kirby will be on display at the Ocean City Arts Center in February.

Little Egg Harbor Township photographers Loralea Kirby and son Zachary Kirby bring their images of New Jersey to the Ocean City Arts Center Feb. 2 through Feb. 28.

A “Meet the Artists” reception will be held 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13. The exhibit is called “Take A Closer Look.” The photographers’ work will be for sale and could make a great Valentine’s Day gift.

Known as “Thru Our Eyes Imagery,” the Kirbys have worked together for more than a decade. Zak began taking photographs at age 8, helping his mother who has spent 25 years behind the camera. The Kirbys’ mission, through their photographs, is to bring the real beauty and peace of the Jersey Shore to visitors and residents of the state. They have traveled from the quiet and tranquil Pine Barrens to the beaches of Cape May to capture the special scenes found only in New Jersey.

Executive Director Rosalyn Lifshin said: “The Kirbys’ talent was first spotted two years ago when they participated in our Boardwalk Art Show. They won a third place award in their first year at the show. Last year, the Kirby’s ‘Road Less Travelled’ was purchased by the Arts Center for the permanent collection. They also were invited to exhibit at this time.”
