Ocean City was recently awarded a $2,000 Capacity Building Grant from Sustainable Jersey.  The grant funding will be used for an Ecotourism brochure that will highlight Ocean City’s ecotourism attractions, coastal environment and sustainable initiatives.

“The City is very appreciative for the grant funding made available through Sustainable Jersey,” Ocean City Mayor Jay Gillian said. “We look forward to using the brochure to help spread the word about Ocean City’s environmentally friendly initiatives and activities found throughout our barrier island.”

The Sustainable Jersey Small Grants Program funded by the PSEG Foundation provides grants to local governments for sustainability projects. The $2,000 grants are intended to assist community Green Teams as they lead and coordinate the sustainability activities in their community.

“Supporting municipalities with funding to do innovative sustainability projects at the community-level is an important step toward our goal of a sustainable New Jersey,” said Sustainable Jersey Co-Director Randall Solomon. “Congratulations to all of the grant recipients.”
