An Ocean City man was killed in a motorcycle crash Wednesday in Upper Township, State Police spokesman Sgt. Jeff Flynn confirmed Friday night.

Dennis Noble, 56, was traveling south on Route 9 at about 7:26 p.m. near milepost 22.5 when his bike veered off the road and struck a utility pole, Flynn said.

Noble, who was originally from Philadelphia, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His family set up a GoFundMe page to pay for funeral expenses.

The family described Noble on the GoFundMe page as a man who loved Ocean City and was a self-professed “beach bum.”

Family called him “a proud father, stepfather, husband, uncle, cousin, caretaker, and friend. Those who love him are shocked by his sudden loss. Our only comfort is that his final moments were spent riding the motorcycle he loved.”

State Police are investigating the accident.
