The Colony Club of Ocean City celebrates its 65th anniversary this year, and Mayor Jay Gillian presented a proclamation at the club’s monthly meeting on Monday (May 18) recognizing the milestone.

Laura Badger, district vice president of the New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Clubs also attended the meeting at Union Chapel by the Sea to honor the local community service organization for women.

Club members donned red noses as part of a fundraiser supporting Red Nose Day (celebrated on May 21). The money raised will be used to help children all over the world who are living well below the poverty level.

Club members (and, for the first time, some husbands) participated in an April 25 fashion show sponsored by the Shore Medical Thrift Shop.

The club took time out from community service on May 14 to celebrate its anniversary at a dinner dance at the Flanders Hotel.
