Closings and Delays Amid Storm

The Howard S. Stainton Senior Center located in the Community Center is closed Friday due to the winter storm. The city also announced that morning programs at the Ocean City Sports & Civic Center would be suspended.

Special Weather Statement: Storm Advisory

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory in effect for Ocean City from 10 p.m. Thursday through 10 a.m. Friday. The latest forecast calls for 1 to 5 inches of snow, with the heaviest accumulations overnight. Localized bands of heavier snow are possible, but warmer ocean air may limit the duration of the snowfall along the coast. North winds gusting to 35 mph are also predicted.

Winter Storm Hits Ocean City

Snow kept falling in Ocean City and throughout the region Monday morning, leaving roadways slick and many closures from schools to city buildings. The winter storm was expected to bring six to eight inches of heavy snow through 4 p.m. Monday. Winds gusting above 40 mph could create moderate flooding.

Ocean City Schools Closed Monday

The Ocean City School District announced Sunday night that due to the impending winter storm predicted for Monday, all schools will be closed.

Special Weather Statement: Storm Watch

The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Watch and a Winter Storm Watch in effect for Ocean City on Monday. The Winter Storm Watch will be from 3 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday with at least 4 to 6 inches of heavy snow possible. The Coastal Flood Watch will be from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday with “moderate” flooding expected.
