The Tuesday of Thanksgiving week the Ocean City community gathers each year for city-wide service of thanks for God’s provision—continuing a tradition that began in colonial United States. Warm Weather a Treat for OC Residents and Visitors

Just when you thought OCNJ Daily had written its last “unseasonably warm weather story” for the year, Mother Nature thought differently. And we couldn’t be more thrilled to write another one. America’s Greatest Family resort enjoyed Friday temperatures that topped 70 degrees and a Saturday in the high 60s. The unusual warm-up was timed perfectly for the “Earlier than the Bird” Downtown Shopping Extravaganza which drew nice crowds to Asbury Avenue. The promotion offered special deals and discounts for shoppers who dressed in their pajamas and came out to jump start their holiday shopping the weekend before Thanksgiving and Black Friday.

Thin Blue Line 800 block Central Avenue

In conjunction with P.B.A. President TJ Mullineaux, Chief Chad Callahan is pleased to announce that the faded double yellow line in front of Police Headquarters has been refreshed and painted blue down the center of roadway in the 800 block of Central Avenue. This blue line symbolizes the City’s support for our Department, and our law enforcement profession as a whole. The Police Community has come under tremendous fire and scrutiny on a national level this past year. It also represents the solidarity displayed within our profession, particularly when a law enforcement officer makes the ultimate sacrifice. Unfortunately, this ultimate sacrifice has become a common theme across our nation all too often. To date, 123 law enforcement officers have paid this ultimate sacrifice in 2016.
