Benefit Scheduled To Aid Teudy And Halley Lukens-Martinez Family

Life took a sudden, unexpected and tragic turn for Ocean City’s Lukens-Martinez family last July when Teudy Martinez suffered a traumatic injury when he was swimming, and leaving him a quadriplegic. If the accident weren’t devastating enough it its own right, it occurred just two weeks before the birth of Teudy and wife Halley’s second child. Needless to say, treatment, rehabilitation and the everyday challenges of life have been very difficult for the young family.

Christie Administration Petitions New US Commerce Secretary To Put Hold On...

The Christie Administration has formally requested the new U.S. Secretary of Commerce, Wilbur Ross, to put a hold on severe restrictions on recreational summer flounder fishing adopted recently by a regional fisheries commission, a move that would effectively cripple the state's fishing industry and have far-reaching impacts on the shore tourism economy, Department of Environmental Protection Commissioner Bob Martin announced today. Mayor’s Update March 3

My administration will deliver an overview of the proposed 2017 municipal budget at the City Council meeting on Thursday. Frank Donato, our finance director, will explain projected revenues and expenses. The meeting is open to public comment and starts at 7 p.m. March 9 at City Hall. I encourage you all to come out and participate in the budget process. The city is currently in a unique position to complete a lot of long-awaited work, and it’s important to remain responsible to taxpayers while we get it done. At my request, members of our Community Services team have been meeting this winter with young musicians and boardwalk merchants to revise a proposed ordinance that would set guidelines for performing on the boardwalk. I think we now have a proposal that works for everybody, and I want to let you all know that City Council will consider the first reading of the new ordinance on Thursday (March 9)...

Guadagno, Sheppard Highlight Cape May County Women in Business Conference

In business and in government, being there is half the battle. That was the message of New Jersey Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno, who certainly was there Thursday for the Cape May County Chamber of Commerce’s Women in Business Conference at the Flanders Hotel in Ocean City. LoBiondo Re-Introduces “Veterans Health ID Act”

After Successful Opening of New Cumberland County Clinic, Congressman Turns Sights on Expanding Cape May Clinic WASHINGTON, D.C. – Seeking to expand on measurable progress over the past year in securing additional healthcare services locally for South Jersey veterans, U.S. Congressman Frank A. LoBiondo (NJ-02) today re-introduced his “Veterans Health ID Act” (H.R. 763) to create a pilot program “under which eligible veterans may elect to receive hospital care and medical services at non-Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) facilities.”

The OCHS Band and The OCHS Drama Guild will get .05 cents to .02 cents per pound from everything they collect from the Big Brothers and Big Sister of Cape May County. Big Brothers and Big Sisters will sell the items we have collected in their thrift store and is how they will benefit. The money that is collected from the Clothing Drive goes for scholarships for the Seniors of OCHS Band and OCHS Drama Guild.
