Mayor’s Update: December 28, 2018

I would like to announce the first of several planned 2019 town hall meetings on issues including drainage, dredging and a new public safety building. The first public meeting will address our affordable housing obligations and plans. The presentation is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12 at the Ocean City Tabernacle (550 Wesley Avenue). Ocean City Fire Destroys Two Beachfront Duplexes

Two beachfront duplexes were destroyed and a third was badly damaged during an early morning fire Thursday on Central Avenue in Ocean City. No injuries were reported. The Ocean City Fire Department responded to multiple calls reporting a structure fire on the 4800 block of Central Avenue at 3:20 a.m.

Local Surfing Legend Dean Randazzo Trades Wetsuit For Lectern

Dean Randazzo is typically a man of few words. New Jersey’s most successful professional surfer has always expressed himself on the water, riding the biggest waves in the world. But he has a story to tell. Randazzo, a longtime fixture of the Ocean City surfing scene, will share his story of becoming a professional surfer, battling cancer and his recovery at the Dean Randazzo Cancer Foundation Lecture For A Cause 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, at Atlantic City Country Club in Northfield, according to a press release.
