It’s One Big Carnival in Ocean City

On Saturday, the seventh annual Spring Carnival hosted by the Ocean City Parent Teacher Association brought together students, teachers and parents alike for an afternoon of fun for all ages. The purchase of tickets to play games and win prizes went to the OCPTA, which is looking to raise funds for a new playground for the preschool program at the primary school.

OCHS Students Grab a Piece of the “Pi”

Students at Ocean City High School celebrated Pi Day on Thursday with some mathematically inspired fun and games. The mostly senior classes of Probability and Statistics created project proposals to be built and put into use for Pi Day. The classes voted, and the top 20 proposals were chosen and created. Students of Probability and Statistics worked the games all day and recorded the data.

Republican Ticket Finalized at Cape GOP Convention

The Cape May County Republican organization finalized its ticket Wednesday for the November general election at its convention in Avalon. Mike Testa of Vineland, who heads the Cumberland County GOP, was selected as the candidate in the State Senate race, while Antwan McClellan of Ocean City and Erik Simonsen of Lower Township emerged as the Assembly candidates, and incumbent Freeholder Director Gerald Thornton of Cape May Courthouse and Ocean City’s E. Marie Hayes were tapped to seek new terms on the Freeholder Board...

Ocean City PTA to Host Fundraiser in Sea Isle

The Ocean City School District’s Parent-Teacher Association invites the public to enjoy “A Night in Monte Carlo” on Saturday, April 6, from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Yacht Club of Sea Isle City, 4487 Venicean Road, Sea Isle City. The event will feature casino-style gaming, food, happy hour prices at the bar, music, dancing, raffles and more. Guests must be 21 or older to attend. Proceeds will help fund improvements to Ocean City’s Primary and Intermediate School’s playground equipment, enhancements to the Intermediate School’s STEM Program and field trips for students in grades kindergarten through eighth.

O.C. Recreation Manager Receives Award

The New Jersey Recreation and Park Association awarded the Michael B. Berman Award for Administrative Excellence to Wendy Moyle, assistant deputy director of the Ocean City Community Services Department, on Feb. 26 at the NJRPA Annual Awards banquet in Atlantic City. Moyle has been a valued member of the Ocean City Recreation Department for her entire career, according to a press release announcing the award. As the 2019 award winner, Moyle's dedication can be summed up through a career filled with success on the regional, state and national levels.

Police Continue to Investigate Ocean City Cold Case

Law enforcement continues to investigate a case that has remained unsolved for a decade. Monday marked the 10th anniversary of the disappearance of John Weisbecker from his home in the 200 block of Asbury Avenue in Ocean City. Weisbecker was last seen around 10:30 a.m. by a local postal worker. The investigation indicates that he disappeared shortly before noon.

Ocean City Happenings: Girls Weekend, Doo-Dah Parade

The fourth annual Girls Weekend from April 5 to April 7 will showcase all that Ocean City’s downtown retail district has to offer and provide a great reason to escape to the shore early in the season. The event kicks off with a fashion show at 7 p.m. Friday, April 5 at Glazed Over Studios (704 Asbury Avenue). It features clothes and accessories for sale in Ocean City’s retail shops and modeled by local men and women, including members of City Council.
