Ocean City Shuts Out Atlantic City

The Ocean City Red Raiders field hockey team blanked the visiting Vikings of Atlantic City, 9-0, in a conference match-up Wednesday afternoon. The Red Raiders honored their seniors in front of the home crowd as they outplayed their opponents for a full 60 minutes, leaving Atlantic City without registering a shot on the afternoon.

Six Traffic Lights Changing to Flash Mode for Off-Season

Vote-by-Mail in Cape May County

This year will be the most unique election in recent memory, if only because it will primarily take place in New Jersey by a Vote-by-Mail process. This creates a lot of questions for some people who have never voted by mail. The Cape May County Clerk’s Office and the Cape May County Board of Elections is providing the answers to many of the frequently asked questions, according to a county news release. Details follow.

The Ocean City boys and girls cross country teams started off the 2020 fall season in dominating fashion, defeating visiting Wildwood Catholic in both races. All COVID-19 safety protocols and guidelines were strictly adhered to during the races.

Ocean City Library Offers “StoryWalk”

The Ocean City Free Public Library Children’s Librarian Taimi Kelley is ready to take kids who love to read on a “StoryWalk.” The kickoff for the “StoryWalk” is Oct. 9 at 10 a.m. The adventure takes place at Lake Memorial Park, 407 Wesley Ave., in Ocean City. There’s also a special meet-and-greet in the park at 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 17. Children get ready to read a good book and take a walk in nature with other friends who love books. Masks are required and everyone must social distance.

Boardwalk and Downtown Merchant Table Sales This Weekend

The Boardwalk and downtown merchants will feature discounts on merchandise during table sales beginning this weekend. On Saturday, Oct. 3 and Sunday, Oct. 4 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., people can browse a host of items.

Election Drop Box Accepting Ballots

Mail-in ballots for the Nov. 3 general election have been sent to registered voters in Ocean City. One of the options for returning completed ballots is via a secure drop box located outside the Ninth Street entrance to City Hall (861 Asbury Avenue). This drop box is installed and accepting ballots now.
