As of 2:11 p.m. Tuesday (July 7), there’s an accident on the Garden State Parkway southbound just south of Great Egg Toll Plaza in Somers Point.
All lanes are blocked.
Seek alternative routes to the 34th Street causeway in Ocean City.
UPDATE: As of 3:41 p.m., the accident had been cleared and traffic was moving again, but there was a 1.5-mile backup north of the Great Egg Toll Plaza due to volume. The Route 52 causeway inbound to Ninth Street in Ocean City also was backed up due to cars diverting to avoid the Parkway backup.
