Snow and ice adds new meaning to white sands on the beach at Park Place in Ocean City, NJ.

Meanwhile, 20 mph west winds made the air feel like -15 degrees. The day marked the coldest point in a cold week.

The beaches and boardwalk are virtually empty — with snow and ice covering large parts of the boardwalk. Hundreds of property owners are dealing with frozen pipes and water damage.

And there appears to be little relief in sight. Temperatures are expected to be above freezing for the first time since Wednesday on Saturday with a high of 36 degrees, and Sunday could see a 40-degree temperature. But a new storm could leave a small coating of snow on Ocean City by late Saturday afternoon before turning to rain overnight.

And next week?
