The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning and a Coastal Flood Advisory for our area in effect for Monday, Jan. 23. Residents and visitors are advised to closely monitor weather forecasts and conditions during this period.

The wind warning will be in effect 3 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday with sustained winds of 30 mph to 40 mph and gusts as high as 60 mph. Loose objects on your property should be brought inside or secured. All contractors are asked to secure job sites in advance of the storm.

The flood advisory will be in effect 3 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday. Minor tidal flooding could occur through three high tide cycles. High tides will occur at approximately 4:39 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Monday, then at 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday on the bay side.

Flooding is likely prior to the time of high tide and may last for several hours.  Vehicles should be moved from areas that typically experience tidal flooding well in advance of these tides.

Heavy rain is expected to fall from Sunday night through Monday and contribute to street flooding.
