Mayor Jay Gillian

Dear Friends,

I would like to remind everyone of the town hall meeting at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 3 at the Ocean City Tabernacle. Representatives of ACT Engineers will be on hand to update everybody on Ocean City’s 2017 bay dredging program. The meeting will be held in the main auditorium of the Tabernacle at 550 Wesley Avenue.

Earlier this week our firefighters began to move equipment into the new fire station at 29th Street.  The new building looks great and I would like to thank our team members and the neighbors for their patience during construction.  We still have some work to do on the outside of the building, but before long, the entire area will be complete.

I would also like to thank everyone for their patience during all of the road work this spring. We still have a couple of weeks of work left, so please remain diligent while you are driving.  Please continue to keep an eye out for bikers and pedestrians as the summer season approaches.

Remember to vote for Ocean City as “New Jersey’s Favorite Beach” in the annual contest sponsored by the NJ Sea Grant Consortium.  The contest is designed to “inspire pride in and stewardship of New Jersey’s beaches.”  Voting is open until June 9, so please cast your vote for Ocean City at njseagrant.org/toptenbeaches.

Tickets went on sale this morning for the Gymnastics Expo featuring Nastia Liukin and Shawn Johnson scheduled for Saturday, September 16.  Tickets are available at oceancityvacation.com/boxoffice and are expected to sell quickly, so make your plans to attend.

I hope you have a great weekend and remind everyone to shop locally.

Warm regards,

Jay A. Gillian, Mayor
