If you’re looking for some great gifts this holiday season, entrepreneur Jake Brown, of Ocean City, creator and owner of WoodLuck apparel, is offering plenty of incentives to shop local.

Not only is he offering major Black Friday discounts on some of his merchandise, but there are two ways to shop for the casual yet fashionable active wear that is perfect for the outdoor sports enthusiast and for those who like to lounge by a fire pit.

“We want to spread brand awareness this holiday season so we’re having our biggest sale yet,” Brown, 25, said in an interview Wednesday.

That means up to 40 percent off site-wide on inventory and free shipping on orders over $60.

WoodLuck inventory offers customers the option of seeing the merchandise in person at Stainton’s By the Sea.

WoodLuck inventory can be found at Stainton’s By the Sea. The shop is located at 12th Street and Boardwalk.

And for those who love the convenience of online shopping, all of WoodLuck’s items can always be ordered by visiting woodluckapparel.com.

There are some WoodLuck staples such as the long and shore tees and the “Woodhoods.”

With winter quickly approaching, some new WoodLuck clothing can’t be beat for warmth.

“Our new crew necks are extremely heavy,” Brown pointed out. “They are perfect for staying cozy with the incoming cold weather.”

There is an array of colors to choose from for all of the merchandise. There is basic white and black, coffee, coral, storm blue, heather, bone and navy, to name a few choices.

All of the apparel have the distinct WoodLuck logo with a simple, sweep of color.

Jake Brown models a thick crew neck.

The backs of the shirts have designs ranging from surfboards to sundials. Brown adds in his description of the clothing line on the website the motto of the brand, “Knock on wood no matter where life takes you with our signature Woodhood.”

The hoodies have thin, wooden labels as part of their unique design. The company name arose out of Brown’s superstition to “knock on wood” for good luck.

Brown said there is plenty still in stock for customers to choose from for that perfect gift or to treat themselves over the holidays.

And there is more to come, with plans for new merchandise to keep inventory well-stocked for return customers and newones to come in 2023, Brown said.

Brown grew up in Ambler, Pa., with his parents, Marnie and Jim Brown, and brother, Ryan, but always spent summers in Ocean City.

He is a 2019 graduate of Bloomsburg University, where he studied business management.

While in college, the idea of WoodLuck came about and the website was launched.

Since the WoodLuck website debuted in 2018, the customer base continues to expand.

Over the past year he partnered with businessman Bill Greene on the WoodLuck venture.

While Brown didn’t divulge some of the new pieces planned for the new year, he said they will surely please his customers and attract new ones.

“We want to bring luck to as many people as possible,” he said.
