Dave Winslow is seeking to fill the unexpired term of former Fourth Ward Councilman Bob Barr through June 30, 2024.

Ocean City Councilman Dave Winslow will run unopposed in the November election for the Fourth Ward seat on City Council.

City Clerk Melissa Rasner confirmed that no other candidates submitted nominating petitions for the election by the filing deadline of Thursday, Aug. 24.

On Aug. 10, City Council selected Winslow in a 6-0 vote to temporarily fill the seat vacated by former Fourth Ward Councilman Bob Barr. Barr was selected to fill a vacant seat on the Cape May County Board of Commissioners that was created when former Commissioner E. Marie Hayes, of Ocean City, resigned to become the new county surrogate in July.

Winslow is running in the Nov. 7 election to fill Barr’s unexpired term through June 30, 2024. He would have to run again in the municipal election in May 2024 to win a full four-year term on Council in the Fourth Ward, Rasner said.

Winslow, 69, a retired human resources executive, has lived in Ocean City since 1977 with his wife, Kathleen. They have lived in the same home on Bayland Drive for 41 years.
