Time to clean out your closets?

Johnson’s Popcorn will give you popcorn for your donations of clothes and blankets on Friday. All donations will go directly to those in need the next day.

Bring gently used items — blankets, coats, hats, gloves and new socks — to the 14th Street location of Johnson’s Popcorn and receive a $1 credit towards your popcorn purchase for each item donated. If you bring in eight items, for instance, you will get $8 towards a popcorn purchase (a 10-ounce tub costs $8, so it would be free).

Johnson’s will then take all proceeds from purchases at the store that day and buy even more winter items for the homeless in Atlantic City. The shop is working with Atlantic City Urban Partnership (a coalition of area churches that helps feed the hungry). All your donations will be hand-delivered to those in need on Saturday (Nov. 14).
