A National Weather Service alert has been upgraded to a Blizzard Warning in effect for Ocean City from 7 p.m. Friday through 7 p.m. Saturday. A Coastal Flood Advisory also will be in effect from 3 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Saturday.

The latest forecast calls for 12 to 18 inches of snow along the coast of southern New Jersey. Northeast and north winds will gust up to 50 mph before turning offshore as the storm starts to move away.

The ordinance prohibiting parking on West Avenue during a snow emergency will not be enforced. This will give more residents a chance to move vehicles away from alleys that may become snowed in. For your own safety and to allow snowplows to do their work, avoid travel during the storm. See more guidance on storm preparation.
