Ocean City NJ Beach Replenishment 2015 Daily Update

An Army Corps of Engineers project to rebuild beaches and dunes between 37th Street and 59th Streets in Ocean City, NJ was completed in September 2015. A new beach replenishment project at the north end of Ocean City between Seaspray Road and 15th Street began on Nov. 2. Check back daily for updates.

PROGRESS: The north end beach replenishment project had reached 11th Street by Saturday afternoon. Work is proceeding around the clock.

WHAT’S NEXT: The project is expected to end at 12th Street as early as Sunday (Dec. 20). The dredging project will pump 800,000 cubic yards of new sand to rebuild eroded beaches from the “terminal groin” (the first jetty at Seaspray Road) to the area around 12th Street. The project started on Nov. 2.
