Food Cupboard coordinator Regina Ralston stacks shelves at the Ecumenical Council Food Cupboard in 2022.

In recognition of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day and the National Day of Service, Ocean City has launched a food drive to help supply the Ocean City Ecumenical Council Food Cupboard.

The city will collect donations of non-perishable food items, paper and personal care items throughout the week of Jan. 15 to Jan. 20.

Anyone who is able to contribute can drop off donations at the City Hall Welcome Center (Ninth Street entrance at 861 Asbury Avenue) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

The National Day of Service honors the life and legacy of Dr. King and encourages all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities.
