Former Philadelphia Phillies Manager Charlie Manuel and former Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Seth Joyner will be part of the fourth annual Sports Memorabilia Show on April 30 at the Ocean City Music Pier. They will greet fans and lead Q&A sessions.

Manuel managed the Phillies from 2005 to 2013 and led the team to a World Series title in 2008 and five consecutive National League East titles from 2007 to 2011. He has been a player and coach in Major League Baseball for more than 40 years.

Joyner was a Pro Bowl linebacker and fan favorite with the Eagles during a career that extended in Philadelphia from 1986 to 1993 and continued with the Arizona Cardinals, Green Bay Packers and Denver Broncos.

Vendors with merchandise and collector’s items representing a variety of sports and teams will be on display and for sale at the show. MATURE AMERICA PAGEANT CANCELED:

Due to lack of potential contestants, the Mr. Mature America Pageant that had been scheduled for April 9 at the Music Pier will not be held this year. The city’s Community Services Department will consider ways to renew interest in the event before rescheduling it.

MARKET MADNESS RETURNS ON MARCH 12:

After a successful debut in 2020, the Market Madness event will return to Ocean City on Saturday, March 12.

Boardwalk and Downtown merchants in Ocean City will team up to put on a one-day sale 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Ocean City Music Pier. The event includes discounts on favorite local merchandise, goods and attractions from 40 different vendors. Food and drink will be available a la carte.

Ocean City’s Boardwalk Merchants Association and Downtown Merchants Association created the new event in 2020 as an early-season attraction, giving shoppers a summer preview. It was not held last year due to the pandemic.

Parking will be free in municipal lots adjacent to the Boardwalk at Moorlyn Terrace, Eighth Street and Ninth Street.

In March of 2020, the first Market Madness was held. Pictured is Ocean City Councilman and Jilly’s shops co-owner, Jody Levchuk, along with some of his employees.
