Exchange Club of Ocean City Holds Annual Fishing Tournament July 20

On Saturday, July 20, the Exchange Club of Ocean City is hosting its 33rd Annual Boat-Only Fishing Tournament. The registration fee is $175 to compete for money and prizes.

  • Top Prize for each category of Flounder and Bluefish is $1,000.
  • Second Place is $500.
  • Third Place is $300.

Fishing is 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Awards and barbecue will follow at 5 p.m. at Tight Lines Bait and Tackle, 820 Bay Ave., in Somers Point.

The 32nd Exchange Club of Ocean City Annual Fishing Tournament raised over $10,000.

The Exchange Club mission statement is “Exchange, America’s Premier Service Club working to make our communities better places to live.”

In the last year, the Exchange Club has donated more than $30,000 in support of children in need, the community and country. The club plays a significant role in the spring and fall Ocean City block parties, the Ocean City Halloween Parade, the Roger LaRosa Golf Classic and the Book of Golden Deeds.

The club also installs Freedom Shrines, a collection of framed historical American documents to memorialize the nation’s greatest achievements. Some of the documents could be viewed at the Freedom Gallery in the Ocean City Free Public Library.
