Following is a copy of Ocean City Councilman Tom Rotondi’s letter to residents of the Second Ward announcing that he will not seek re-election this year.

Dear Residents of the 2nd Ward,

I trust this letter finds you in good health and spirits. It is with a mix of emotions that I reach out to inform you of my decision not to run for re-election as your 2nd Ward representative in the upcoming 2024 elections.

After careful reflection and consideration, I have been presented with an opportunity for an appointment that is currently awaiting announcement. I believe this offers a distinct chance to serve Ocean City in a different capacity. While this choice wasn’t made lightly, I am genuinely enthusiastic about the potential to contribute to our community in a new and impactful manner.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to each of you who have supported me during my tenure as your 2nd Ward Councilman. Your trust and encouragement have been deeply appreciated, and I take great pride in the collaborative efforts we’ve undertaken for the betterment of our ward.

Although I won’t be seeking re-election, please understand that my dedication to safeguarding the essence of Ocean City remains steadfast. I remain committed to serving and standing alongside those who share a passion for preserving our city’s unique way of life.

I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to provide further details about my new appointment in due course. Together, let us continue to work towards ensuring the ongoing prosperity and success of our beloved island.

Thank you sincerely for your unwavering support and understanding.

Warm regards,

Tom Rotondi 2nd Ward Councilman
