Despite the bad weather and holiday weekend, a great crowd came out to compete for the OCNJ Cornhole Championship 2024 at Cornhole Craze on Saturday night.
After a round robin round, the teams competed in a double-elimination tournament that eventually saw the Chew Crew emerge as champions with a big win over the Maros. The Goulds also had a good showing, coming in third place.
The families were not only competing for the title, but were also there to support Michael DeVlieger’s campaign for Councilman-At-Large.
At the end of the evening, DeVlieger thanked all of the families who came out and congratulated the winners.
“Thank you for coming out for a night of family fun and for your support of my candidacy,” DeVlieger said. “Tonight, we saw some stiff competition that resulted in the Chew Crew being victorious. If we had an MVP award, it would have to go to Cove Chew. Wow, she is a competitor. The Chews came to win, and they did. Congratulations! Also, a special ‘Thank you” to DJ and 3rd Ward Councilman Jody Levchuk for treating us to some great music tonight!”
