Cape May County Reports New COVID-19 Death

The first phase of vaccinations is getting underway in the county.

The Cape May County Health Department reported Thursday that five new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed, bringing the total number countywide to 488.

A 91-year-old man from Lower Township became the latest county resident to die from the virus. The total number of deaths in Cape May County now stands at 39, according to a press release.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends as we grieve their loss,” said Cape May County Freeholder Director Gerald Thornton. “Please accept our deepest condolences for your loss.”
