Update 12:15 p.m. ET: OnPattison has obtained the following statement from Denise White, the CEO of EAG Sports management, Jeffery's representation.

"Alshon Jeffery categorically denies the allegations that have been reported. The underlying incident was a minor freeway fender bender, and he provided his information at the scene.

"These are unfounded allegations only, and Alshon has not been convicted of any offense. He will address this matter through the legal process, and he remains confident that the facts will demonstrate this was a misunderstanding and nothing more."

Original Story

TMZ Sports is reporting that former Eagles wideout Alshon Jeffery was arrested in California on suspicion of insurance fraud:

Jeffery — who was also busted for conceal/fail to disclose insurance benefit or payment — was booked in jail around 8 AM on Wednesday and has since been released.

Further details surrounding the arrest were not immediately available.

According to California law, the insurance fraud charge is a felony and can carry up to five years in prison and/or a fine that's double the amount of the fraud.

Jeffery spent the final four campaigns of his nine-year NFL career with the Eagles, following a five-year stint with the Chicago Bears. He hauled in 171 passes for 2,237 yards and 20 touchdowns across four years in Philadelphia.

Most notably, Jeffery caught three passes for 73 yards in a 41-33 Super Bowl LII victory over the New England Patriots. That included a 34-yard touchdown reception from Nick Foles in the first quarter of the team's first Super Bowl win.

Jeffery — who had 6,786 receiving yards and 46 touchdowns in his career — last played in the NFL during the 2020 season.
