Eagles general manager Howie Roseman was asked about the status of wide receiver A.J. Brown in his pre-draft media availability Tuesday, and had a funny response, according to NFL Media's Mike Garafolo.

“What do you think the odds are that I’m answering this question any different than I answered it anywhere else? Like really, do you think that’s 50 percent? Do you think it’s 75 percent?”

Garafolo noted that Roseman went on to say that "A.J. Brown's an Eagle," which is almost identical to the answer he gave at the league meetings in Phoenix in late March.

While this was certain to be the response from Roseman, it's still a question that needed to be asked. By this point, everyone has fatigue with this conversation, but that doesn't make it any less real. If the Eagles wanted to, they could come out and altogether squash this idea. Do you think if Roseman was asked about trading Jalen Hurts that he would simply respond by pointing out that he's still employed by the Eagles? Of course not, he — even if things aren't perfect between the Eagles and the quarterback — would end that conversation in a hurry. In this case, he just continues to point out that Brown remains with the Eagles, which makes it fair to wonder if after the NFL Draft — or after June 1 — that will still be the case.

The Eagles acquired Dontayvion Wicks in a trade with the Green Bay Packers last week, and immediately gave him a one-year/$12.5 million extension. They've already signed Hollywood Brown to a one-year deal. DeVonta Smith is coming off of the third 1,000-yard season of his career, and if he was the focal point of the passing game, could probably put up even better numbers. Add in that the Eagles could still use a high draft pick on a wideout — a trade that nets them an additional pick or two might make that easier — and you start to see a scenario where Brown isn't an Eagle in 2026.

For now, though, the drama continues.
