Nuclear Medicine Technologist is Shore Medical Center's "Employee of Month"

Shore Medical Center has named lead nuclear medicine technologist Jennifer Kane as its May Employee of the Month.

The monthly award is given by the Somers Point hospital to employees for “consistently delivering outstanding service and embodying the organization’s mission, vision, and values.”

Kane, of Egg Harbor Township, joined Shore Medical Center in 2001 as a nuclear medicine technologist, bringing both technical expertise and a commitment to compassionate patient care, according to a news release.

In her role, Kane is responsible for performing a wide range of complex diagnostic tests in the Nuclear Medicine Department, including cardiac stress tests, gastric-emptying scans, DAT scans for Parkinson’s disease, GI bleeding scans, and more.

Each procedure requires precision, attention to detail, and a calming presence – qualities Kane brings to every patient interaction, the release stated.

Courtney Humphrey, Shore’s director of Imaging Services, says that Kane’s commitment to providing safe, high-quality testing in nuclear medicine makes her a role model for others.

“Jen is truly passionate about providing patient-centered care, and it shows in everything she does. She consistently goes the extra mile for patients and visitors. Her dedication has not only been recognized by her team, but also deeply appreciated by the patients and families she serves,” Humphrey said.

“She brings a calm and positive energy to work, creating an environment where people feel safe, supported and genuinely cared for. She’s an invaluable part of our team and a role model of what we strive for in healthcare,” Humphrey added.

Outside of work, Kane’s world revolves around her children, Jessica and Dylan, and running them to sports and other activities. They’re all big Kansas City Chiefs fans.

Kane is passionate about physical fitness and has participated in many triathlons and even set up a running club for neighborhood children during the COVID pandemic.
