Cape May County Workforce Development Offers Education and Training Grants

The Cape May County Division of Workforce Development offers education and training grants up to $5,000 and paid On-The-Job-Training (OJT) opportunities with local companies and businesses providing year-round employment.

Education and training grants are available to county residents for in-demand jobs such as: LPN, Dental Assistant, Computer Technology, HVAC/Plumbing, Certified Nurse Assistant, CDL-B/A license, Culinary Arts, Skin Care Specialist, Welding, Pharmacy Technician, Cosmetology, Office Network Specialist, Electrician, Auto Mechanic, and many more.

Grants can be applied to tuition at area schools, colleges, training facilities and numerous certified online training partners.

For county residents looking for On-The-Job (OJT) training opportunities, the Workforce Development program provides an opportunity for unemployed/underemployed residents to learn a new trade or skill while paid for up to 26 weeks. The goal is for OJT workers to be employed full-time following their training period.

Career Center, located at the County Commons complex, 3801 Route 9 south, Unit 3, Rio Grande. The hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (excluding county holidays).

The One-Stop Career Center also provides an array of employment services that support unemployed and dislocated workers, youths, high school dropouts, veterans, ex-offenders, age 55-plus, and those who have a physical or mental disability.
