A Cape May County man has been charged with attempted murder for allegedly shooting another man in the face during a confrontation at a local motel, authorities said.

The shooting happened shortly before 1 p.m. Friday at Simpson’s Motel in the Rio Grande section of Middle Township, Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland said.

Adam Radomski, 43, of Rio Grande, is facing multiple charges, included attempted murder, aggravated assault, weapons offenses and refusing to allow a biological sample to be drawn. He is in custody in the Cape May County jail pending court proceedings.

Radomski confronted the 25-year-old victim at the motel and shot him in the face, Sutherland said. The victim, whose name was not immediately released, was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Atlantic City Campus, for treatment.

Radomski was identified as the alleged shooter following an investigation by the Middle Township Police Department Major Crimes Unit, Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Cape May County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit. He was taken into custody without incident.

As a result of the investigation, a handgun, multiple firearm accessories and parts and other weapons were recovered, Sutherland said.

There is no other threat to the public, according to Sutherland.
