Ocean City has done it again. The latest award bestowed upon the family-friendly resort town comes from the website Beachfix.com for the “Best East Coast Beach.”
The website, which specializes in “everything beach, bodyboarding, surfing and more,” according to its description, selected Ocean City as the top beach out of a host of other well-known beach communities.
The Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce released the results of the recent poll in an email blast Monday morning.
“With eight miles of wide, sandy beaches, and endless beach activities, Ocean City, New Jersey, is many beachgoers favorite spot,” Beachfix.com states. “In fact, it’s often referred to as ‘America’s Greatest Family Resort.’ While it’s most popular during the summer when it’s warm, it’s also a great year-round vacation destination.”
Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Michele Gillian remarked about the newest honor for Ocean City.
“We are always honored to receive accolades. We, along with the city and other local organizations, work really hard to keep Ocean City America’s Greatest Family Resort,” Gillian said. “Our beaches, bay, Boardwalk, and Downtown shopping district are truly our gems.”
The bustling Boardwalk with its many shops, amusements and restaurants add to the family-friendly allure, according to the site.
The website takes note in selecting Ocean City as the favorite beach town destination of many activities visitors can enjoy on the Boardwalk, including amusement parks.
“One of the most iconic attractions is Gillian’s Wonderland Pier, where you can enjoy rides, food, shopping, mini-golf and so much more,” Beachfix.com states. “Playland’s Castaway Cove is another lively pier and boardwalk. There’s something for everyone.”

Over the years, Ocean City has won an array of awards for its beaches and favorite Boardwalk. For 2022 alone, the latest win can be added to these:
- Ocean City was voted New Jersey’s Favorite Beach in 2022 in NJ Sea Grant Consortium’s poll.
- Ocean City was voted Cape May County’s Favorite Beach in 2022 in the NJ Sea Grant Consortium’s poll.
- Ocean City Boardwalk was named Best in New Jersey in 2022 by NJ Monthly Magazine.
