Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. Friday, April 24, for six Ocean City Pops shows this summer featuring a diverse lineup of guest artists and themes – from legendary singer and actor Ben Vereen to the music of ABBA.
The shows include:
- July 3 — “Phantom, Evita, and More: The Best of Andrew Lloyd Webber.” This outdoor show at Carey Stadium will be performed by the Vince League, a band led by Pops Maestro Vince Lee. Hear some of the biggest hits from shows such as “Phantom of the Opera,” “Cats,” “Evita,” “Jesus Christ Superstar” and more. This show is outdoors with seating on the field and bleachers. Bring a beach chair or towel to sit on the field.
- July 5 — Direct from Sweden: The Music of ABBA: Some of Sweden’s most experienced and talented singers and musicians will deliver a performance of ABBA music.
- July 12 — Ocean City Theater Company All-Stars: Join Maestro Vince Lee as some of the biggest talents from the Greater Ocean City Theatre Company perform Broadway's biggest hits and favorites.
- July 19 — Ben Vereen: The Triumph of the Spirit: Vereen will be performing an evening of songs with the Ocean City Pops. In addition to his many television and film credits, Vereen starred in “Pippin,” “Jesus Christ Superstar,” “Hair,” “Chicago,” “Wicked” and more. He has performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Edmonton Symphony, the North Carolina Symphony, the San Diego Symphony, the Long Beach Symphony and the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, to name a few.
- July 22 — The Jersey Tenors: The Friends of The Ocean City Pops are sponsoring this show performed by The Jersey Tenors, the newest opera/rock mash-up sensation. The group creates a blend of iconic opera classics alongside rock greats like Queen, Elton John and Bon Jovi.
- July 26 — Feelin' Groovy Hits of the '60s: This show will be performed by the Vince League. Featuring the singing sensation Camille K, the Vince League will take concertgoers from "Downtown" to "Up, Up, and Away," with music from The Band to the Beatles.
