Due to New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection permitting issues, the start of the West Avenue emergency sewer repair work will be delayed by at least a week, the city announced Monday.
West Avenue at 14th Street had been scheduled to be closed from Tuesday morning to Wednesday morning to allow a New Jersey American Water contractor to dig test pits.
The intersection of Ninth Street and West Avenue had been scheduled to be closed for at least two weeks starting on Thursday.
The city plans to provide updates to the public as soon as New Jersey American Water is able to confirm a new construction schedule.
